Getting in a workout may not be number one on your list, but your dog can be the motivation you need to get outside! Taking the dog for a walk? Make it a win-win and exercise with your best friend!

Go Running or for a Long Walk

Walking your pup is essential for its health, and yours too, so walking your dog a little bit faster for a little bit longer can turn into a great workout. If your dog is a breed that loves to run, then take advantage and run with your dog! You’ll both benefit from a great cardio workout.

Find a Nice Hiking Trail

Going for a hike with your dog is a great way to workout, and connect with nature. Hiking trails that have a higher altitude will also help you and your dog work on your endurance and breathing. Not to mention, hiking uneven grounds help work out stability muscles that you don’t usually use!

Kayak Adventure

This activity will be extremely fun for both you and your dog!  When kayaking with your pet, it’s best to start on a slow moving river so they won’t fall out or get scared. Kayaking is also a core and arms workout, which comes from the required paddling. With the added weight of your doggy,  it will make for a more intense workout!

Downward Dog with Your Dog!

Doing yoga with your dog can be a truly bonding experience for both of you. Doing yoga will help you gain whole body strength, while your dog will be learning new skills and be able to work on their concentration.If your pup is smaller, you can incorporate him by lifting him in poses like the Warrior Pose. If your dog is on the larger scale, you can fold over him while doing Camel pose!

Swimming Together

A great way to workout for both you and your dog, he should be a natural already! If you have a pool or live near the ocean, make it part of your regime to swim with your pup! Not only is it a whole body workout, but you’ll feel great afterwards!
