Green Vegetables That Are Great for Juicing

While many people enjoy fruit-based juices for their sweet taste, vegetable juices provide just as many health benefits, if not more, than fruit juices. If you’re not a fan of sweet tasting juices, a vegetable-based cleansing juice is the way to go for you. These juices are also preferable for diabetics, as most vegetables have considerably less natural sugars than fruits, making it easier to regulate blood sugars.

Green vegetables are often regarded as the healthiest vegetables for their lack of starch and many vitamins and minerals. Kale: Kale has quickly grown in popularity in the past few years due to its many health benefits. The fiber in kale helps to aid with digestion and liver health, and lowers cholesterol. Kale is high in vitamin C, helping to increase metabolism, relieve stiff muscles and joints, strengthen the immune system, improve skin quality, and regulate healthy blood sugars. Kale has anti-inflammatory properties, which helps to relieve bloating. Kale is a great source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids,  which helps to keep your hair, skin, and nails healthy. Kale is rich in vitamin K, making it great for strengthening bones.

Spinach: Spinach is able to restore energy, and improve the quality of blood. Spinach is rich in several vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, K, B2, iron, folic acid, magnesium, and manganese. Vitamin K helps to maintain healthy bones; vitamin A helps to maintain healthy skin, bones, and improves both vision and the immune system. Vitamin B2 helps to metabolize fats and protein; vitamin C, as we know, helps to improve the immune system, boost energy levels, and improve the overall quality of the skin. The large amounts of iron in spinach allows red blood cells to transport oxygen around the body, which also helps to improve energy.

Broccoli: You might already know that broccoli is good for you, but do you know how good? Broccoli has antioxidants in it, making it ideal for cleansing. It is also a great source of vitamin C, to help boost the immune system. Broccoli is also loaded with fibre, making it great for boosting digestive health.

Celery: Celery is another vegetable that has several health hidden health benefits. For instance, celery can help with gout problems, as it is great at cleansing the digestive system, and removing uric acid. Celery is high in potassium, making it handy in lowering blood pressure. Celery is also great to add to your juice if you tend to retain water or are suffering from bloating.  

Zucchini: Studies have been done that have shown zucchini to be helpful in preventing the chances of some diseases, such as concer. The fiber in zucchinis helps to remove cancer-causing toxins from cells in the colon. Zucchini is also rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, and folate, which helps to protect cells from harmful chemicals that can lead to cancer. Vitamin C and beta-carotene also have anti-inflammatory properties, making them helpful with conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, where painful swelling is a common symptom. Zucchinis are also great for cardiovascular health, and is believed to aid in protection against strokes and heart attacks.   

Cucumber: Cucumber is 95% water, which makes it great for hydration. Because of all of the water, it helps to flush out harmful toxins from the body. Cucumbers are rich in magnesium, silicon, and potassium, all of which are needed for healthy skin (and why cucumbers are often used in skin care). This vegetable is also filled with vitamins A, B, and C, all of which boost energy and the immune system. Due to the light calorie count in cucumbers, it is also good for weight loss.
